Title : Application of thermal annealing on optical and surface topographical features of titania thin films for solar cells
Abstract:
Over the years, demand in energy is increasing therefore renewable energy resources are required. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) based solar cells are broadly used in this era because of easy availability. Herein, report titania film was fabricated by e-beam evaporation and further thermal annealing was done in the range of 100-500ºC. Optical properties of film indicates high transparency with good energy band gap of 3.53-3.69eV. The extinction coefficient of films is found less than one owing to higher transmittance. Moreover, surface topographical studies or AFM was carried out in semi contact mode where RMS of films in range of 0.385- 1.027 nm. The observed Grain size for film is in the range of 20-23 nm. The findings of film emphasize to use as window or electron transport layer in solar cells.
