Title : Seeds extract (Trigonella Foenum-Graecum) grown in Sudan and their antimicrobial mechanism
Abstract:
Today nanotechnology and medicinal plant has evolved in true sense by contributing to a very large extent to the food industry. The principle of synthesized Silver nanoparticle is based on the reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) by the extract of fenugreek seeds. The nanoparticles were characterized and investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The size and shape of the nanoparticles were found to be sensitive to the quantity of the extract. The antibacterial effect of the silver nanoparticles was investigated for both of these microorganisms. The kinetic growth studies as well as the test of zone of inhibition and colony counting showed the successful synthesis of the nanoparticles and their influence on the microbial activity i.e. their inhibitory effects. This approach is not only of a green rapid synthesis kind and considered as a better alternative to chemical synthesis, but also found to be effective for large scale synthesis of silver nanoparticles.
