Title : Fe, Cr co-doped fluorophosphate cathode for high performance sodium-ion batteries
Abstract:
Na?V?(PO?)?F? (NVPF) has emerged as a highly promising candidate for cathodes in sodium-ion batteries in recent years [1]. However, its electrochemical properties are hindered by low electronic conductivity [2]. To address these issues, sol-gel method was used to synthesize carbon-coated Fe and Cr co-doped Na?V?(PO?)?F?. The effects of this co-doping on the material's electrochemical performance, morphology, and structure were explored. It was confirmed that dual doping with Fe and Cr improves the electrochemical properties of NVPF. Notably, Na?V?.?Fe?.???Cr?.???(PO?)?F? exhibited a capacity of 119.85 mAhg?¹ at 0.1C and maintained a cyclability of 88.58% after 500 cycles at 1C. The material's electronic conductivity also improved, contributing to better electrochemical performance. Additionally, reducing the vanadium content in the cathode lowers manufacturing costs. Our research suggests that carbon-coated Na?V?.?Fe?.???Cr?.???(PO?)?F? could be a promising cathode material for practical applications in SIBs.
