Biography:
Dr. Rashad Al-Gaashani is a scientist at QEERI, HBKU. He holds a PhD in materials science from UKM, Malaysia (2012). His research focuses on nanomaterials, nanocomposites, carbon materials, and developing advanced water filtration materials for water/wastewater treatment. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers, holds two patents, and has an h-index of 16 and an i10-index of 19 with more than 3,450 citations. In 2024 and 2025, he was named among the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists. He also has strong expertise in materials characterization techniques, including XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, FTIR, TGA, UV-vis, XPS, and BET.
