Title : Study the effect of rice husk nano-ash on the corrosion resistance of concrete
Abstract:
In this paper, the corrosion behavior of reinforced steel immersed in concrete was studied. nanoparticles of rice husk ash (NRHA)laboratory synthesized from rice husk were used as a partial substitute for ordinary Portland cement at rates of 5wt% and 20wt% . The primary aim of this research is to mitigate the corrosion rate in concrete by utilizing nanomaterial cementitious components. Through the utilization of the tafel extrapolation method, the effectiveness of the inhibitor was assessed, and achieve the highest efficiency of 80.6% with the incorporation of 20 wt% rice husk ash (NRHA). The findings reveal a substantial reduction in the corrosion rate and an improvement in corrosion resistance after introducing NRHA at varying proportions, subsequently decreasing the permeability of water and aggressive materials within the concrete matrix.
