Title : Self organized bismuth oxide nanofibre layer as an efficient photocatalyst

Abstract:

Metal oxide-based electro catalysts are promising alternatives to other conventional materials used for waste water splitting due to their low cost, abundant raw materials, and impressive stability. In the present work we demonstrated that BixOx-1 nanofiber layers and some electroactive dopants possess excellent photocatalytic properties that are significantly enhanced compared to other conventional materials. This research is tailored for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions, discussing their crystal structure, composition, and surface morphology influence on performance. Strategies like surface engineering, doping, and nano-structuring are evaluated for enhancing catalytic activity and stability. The key considerations for ongoing research, innovation, and future scope to drive widespread adoption of water-splitting technology for a cleaner and sustainable future are highlighted.

Ibrahim Yakubu Ogirima research intrest include Solar energy conversion and storage materials,Fabrication and evaluation of sustainable materials.Eco-friendly and sustainable material development.He is a dedicated research professional with a Master of Science degree in Solar Energy and Material Physics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His research focus lies in the development and evaluation of materials for solar energy conversion and storage, with a strong emphasis on eco-friendliness and sustainability.He is currently serve as a research staff member at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State, Nigeria, where he contribute to advancing knowledge and innovation in the field of solar energy and materials science.
