Sara Assi is a PhD candidate at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She graduated with a BS in Biology from the Lebanese American University. She then joined the American University of Beirut (AUB) to pursue a MS degree in Biology. After that, she worked on an interdisciplinary project between the chemical engineering, cell biology, and surgery departments at AUB which increased her interest to pursue a PhD in biomedical engineering. She then joined the research group of Prof. Walid Saad and Prof. Nadine Darwiche to work on her PhD degree.
