Title : Mos2 nanosheets induced self-assembled Poly(3-Hexylthiophene) thin films for high- performance electronic devices

Abstract:

Solution-processable π-conjugated conducting polymers have validated themselves as potential candidate as active matrix in modern flexible electronics for a variety of electronics and optoelectronic applications due to high performance and unique functionality. Nanoscale morphology of solution-processed poly-3-hexylthiophene (P3HT) plays energetic part in augment of performance electronics devices and has been demonstrated as a promising active-layer material in electronic/optoelectronic devices. Therefore, controlling the crystallinity of P3HT chains is critical for gaining high-performance devices. The long-range ordering and aggregation in poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) have been accomplished by introducing two dimensional (2D) molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets to a polymer matrix, Thin films of synthesized P3HT/MoS2 nanocomposites have been fabricated and characterized by various experimental techniques. The grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXD) analysis and atomic force microscopy (AFM) reveal the long-range ordering and highly crystalline thin films of polymer chains over the substrate. The impact of morphology and orientation on macroscopic charge transport performance is elaborately estimated by fabricating organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). Our methodology of using 2D MoS2 nanosheets to induce immediate aggregation of P3HT offers a simplistic route to regulate the crystallization of conjugated polymers for the improvement of high-performance organic electronics.
