About Mahendra Patel

Dr. Mahendra Patel is a distinguished scientist with internationally recognised contributions to Paper Technology, Nanotechnology, Materials Science and Mineralogy. He holds a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi and a Doctor of Science degree from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, complemented by advanced training in the UK, France, the Netherlands and Germany. He has published nearly 300 research papers, secured 8 patents, authored 7 books, and supervised six Ph.D. scholars, reflecting a sustained record of scientific innovation and mentorship. His achievements have been honoured with major awards, including the IPPTA Lifetime Achievement Award, Samanta Chandra Shekhar Award, Malaviya Award, a Special CSIR Award for his role during the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, and the PPI Research Excellence Award. Dr. Patel has served in senior scientific and leadership roles, including Director of the Pulp and Paper Research Institute, Senior Scientist at CSIR, Executive Secretary of IPPTA, and Technical Adviser to IARPMA, and has contributed to major technical events such as PAPEREX. A Life Member and Joint Editor in Chief of IPPTA, he continues to contribute actively through scientific writing, consultancy and mentorship.
